Welcome to the Cape Codger Softball 2026 Season and Spring/Summer League Registration

The Board and Coaches of the Cape Codger Senior Softball League are excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Spring/Summer Season. See the Registration page on our website.

We made a great deal of progress on improving the experience in 2025 (fields, umpires, team balance). We are expecting even more impact in 2026 including outfield improvements to the at Nye and Admin, and a consolidated source of rules for the Codgers (for easier understanding of the rules by everyone). Perhaps most significantly, the Board unanimously voted to drop the registration age to 50 for men and 40 for women to better align with Senior Softball leagues around the area. This will help us further grow the organization. Based on registrations, we will either extend the number of teams in each division or we will open a third division to accommodate the growth and create experiences better aligned with member interests. We will know more about this in Mid-March. It is for that reason that we have started our registration now (January 2). Returning players must register by March 15 to ensure that they remain on their current team (if desired). All players who want to be placed on a team must register by April 1.

Season Schedule

Players should note that the regular season starts on May 12 and ends August 14, with playoffs scheduled to end no later than September 11. Our intent is to play mostly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with an occasional Friday with teams playing once or twice per week. We ask that if you sign up to play on a team this season that you can commit (barring in-season injury of course) to playing at least 75% of the games. If for any reason you cannot commit (due to family commitments, travel, or preexisting injury etc.), you can sign up as a pool player only (PPO).

New Player Evaluation Requirement Information

If you are new to the Codgers, you will be required to attend at least one of our outdoor evaluation days which will occur on April 18 and April 26th . We also strongly encourage all new players to participate in our winter indoor pickup games at TJO sports. Information and signup is on our website. If you are not able to attend any of these sessions, we will not be able to accommodate you on a team. You are more than welcome, however, to sign up as a pool player only (PPO). The purpose for these requirements is to ensure that we maintain balanced teams and safe play for a positive playing experience.

Request for Umpires

Finally, after a successful expansion of our umpiring, we will again be looking for players to volunteer to umpire again this season. Expectation is that each ump will work about 8 games during the season. In the registration, there is a spot to mark if you are interested in umpiring this season. We hope that as many of you as possible will consider it. If you have any questions about umpiring, please reach out to Kevin Swain (kevin_swain@jabil.com) or Jeff Barnum (jeff.barnum@outlook.com).

We look forward to seeing you on the Field.
